Step 4. How to Export Audio Sermons Print E-mail
Written by Austin Moore

This article is a step-by-step demostration on how to capture your Audio Sermons to be streamed to the world. I presume you already have Audacity installed on your computer, if not then please click here to follow the step-by-step instructions on how to install this free tool.

The first step is to configure audacity after you have installed it. We want to make sure that you have the settings low, but not so low that you loose quality of the audio. Another words we will make the file as small as possible without loosing any quaility.

Step One: Launch Audacity

  1. Click the Edit button
  2. Then click onto Preferences

Step Two: Once the Preference box comes up you want to make sure the setting are just like this one.

  1. Default Sample Rate 11025 Hz
  2. Default Sample Format 16-Bit
  3. Real-time sample rate converter Fast Sinc Interpolation
  4. Highly Quality sample rate converter Fast Sinc Interpolation
  5. Real Time dither None
  6. High-Quality dither Triangle

Step Three: Click the Audio I/O tab at the top.

  1. Here you want to make sure the Channels are 1 (Mono)
  2. Next, click the OK button at the bottom Right

Step Four: Make sure that the sample rate is set at 11025 Hz by looking here at the bottom left corner. If it is not set as 11025 Hz go ahead and click 11025 Hz.

Step Five: Now you are ready to Click the Red Record Button located on the top bar to start recording your sermons.

Step Six: OK. Once you start recording You should see something very similar as to what you see here in this image. Notice how it says Mono, 11025Hz 16-bit. Also, you can see the blue line across going up and down. This indicates you are captureing sounds.

Step Seven: Also, you will notice only one channel is working. For our example it is the left channel. This is what you want because it will make the file size smaller. This will bounce back and forth when you are speaking into the microphone.

Step Eight: Once you are finished captureing the Audio Sermon you will need to click the Yellow Stop button as shown in this image. Note, you can push the blue pause button and then push it again if you want to briefly stop recording and then pick back up where you left off at.

Step Nine: To save the Audio Sermon you just captured.

  1. Click onto the File button
  2. Click onto the Export As MP3 button

Step Ten: Nameing the Audio Sermon. You want to keep it simple by using the date of which the sermon was recorded on. Of course you want to save this in the Streams Folder you created when you installed Audacity.

  1. You want to name it by the date such as the example below:
  2. Avoid having any special characters or spaces in the file name. Such as * - ( ) > < / ? {}[]
  3. Now after you have named your file, go ahead and click the Save Button.

Step Eleven: If this is the first time you have exported an MP3 in Audacity, you will be prompted to find the lame_enc.dll file.

  1. Go ahead and click the Yes button.

Step Tweleve: Once you have located your lam_enc.dll file *Which should be inside your Streams folder*

  1. Double click the lam_enc.dll file
  2. **Do not move this file, Audacity will need to reference it every time you export an MP3 Sermon.

Step Thirteen: You have a choice here

  1. You can either fill in the information and then click the OK button
  2. You can just click the OK button and not fill it in. **I always just click the OK button**

Step Fourteen: You have now saved your Sermon in a MP3 format. Go ahead and look Inside your Audio Sermons Folder or wherever you saved it to your hard drive and double click it to make sure it works.
